Review of CALL

Description:
     This class was very helpful for me to learn how to use internet technology in Engliksh class.
According to various topisc, we've learned how to handle digital story telling material, video editing, socrative, canvas and some listening sites. All of them were very interesting and useful  for English class.

Pros:
     Especially for me , it was an essential class because I am very clumsy to use internet sites and programs, but through this class, I've learned really many things about internet sites and materials.
As I'm getting older(?), I am losing the confidence to handle the computer, but this class gave good opportunities to know and understand about internet teaching materials. Furthermore, as a team activity, I got much help from my partner, Kyungran. I'm very thankful to her.

Cons:
     The weak point is the lack of time for me to achieve the process entirely. It means that I should have exercised the skill or method that I've learned in class at home or later. I neglected that. So I am still wandering between the first stage and the next stage.

Overall view:
     For me, it was a wonderful experience. I made my own blogger for the first time, I realized there are so many interesting materials you can use in the internet and they are waiting for you to use them sometime. The more important thing is that I can have the confidence and am not afraid of new technology. Based on the things I've learned in class, I would try more challenge to the internet.

Review of Audio/Video listening lab sites

Description:
     Audio/ Video listening lab sites based on the internet  are useful tools for improving students' listening skills. With a headset, students take part in the activities provided in the program. They can record their voices and compare them with native speaker's pronunciation, and they also answer some questions to check their comprehension. In all age groups, this method can be used.

Pros:
     Above all, that students can participate in class actively is the strongest point. Until now, the time for listening practice has seemed to be the moment for students to be calm and teachers have not known whether students are studying or not. But in this method, students can enjoy the class because there are so many interesting listening materials in the internet. For example, in real-english.com, students are able to meet a variety of English accents and different tones, and in englishcentral.com, they can experience many interesting topics from ad. to movie trailer and activities. Besides these sites,  there are many useful sites for elementary and pre-school childrens. Most materials include fun activities that students engage in class very actively.

Cons:
     As mentioned above, there are so many listening sites in the internet. So it can take some time for teachers to choose the appropriate sites for the target language structures and goals. Another problem is that when students are doing the activities in the sites, they are likely to focus on just amusement, not the content. In order to prevent this problem, teachers should give time-limit and discuss about some activities with students.

Overall view:
     Unlike before, listening to various pronunciations according to countries or persons is getting important. Only Ameican accent is not considered to be right pronunciation. English, Australian even Indian accent is acceptable to learners these days. Through these internet listening sites, students can inprove their listening ability and be open-minded to those various kinds of foreigners
